I just had to volunteer to go first, didn't I?
ReplyDeleteI laugh as I see everyone clapping for me, wondering what I did to deserve this.
ReplyDeleteThat is my hook, I used Technique 9.
My friend had betrayed me, and now we are on the wrong track.
ReplyDeleteI was the kind of girl who hated public speaking.Yet, there I was, about to read my first place D.A.R.E. essay to my family, friends, and complete strangers. But lets go back to the begininng of it all, shall we?
ReplyDeleteHoly Crap, you won the dare competition. way to go emily

DeleteThanks Henry! You too, Elise! I was so terrified up there!!

ReplyDeleteI was wreathing in agony as my lungs were screaming for oxygen, I realized these might be my last moments. I'm too young to die! Here's how it all began, with the cool breeze of the fresh morning dew...
ReplyDeleteThen it twisted its way off, the huge, rectangular, wooden block coming right for my head and...
ReplyDeleteHe was a crab pot!
ReplyDeleteTechnique 1
Who knew that a teacher would admit that he was a crab pot?

You might be suprised to hear that our new jump roping trick wasn't going as planned, but let me tell you, you shouldn't be.

The swings going from left to right... As i run through them, dodging and sliding, I'm almost to the end when all of a sudden... WHAM!

That's what mine was about too.
DeleteI still have the video xD
DeleteI shuddered as the shock ran through me. I grasped the hands of my classmates tighter as the volts passed onto the next person. Now, you may be wondering why I was being shocked by electricity. Perhaps I should go back to the beginning...
ReplyDeleteI really like yours! It makes me wonder whats going on!
DeleteThe sky flipped upside down, my friends were suddenly spinning, I was falling.
ReplyDeleteDid your lunch ladies ever finally just snap after all we put them through?

You might be surprised to learn that one of my best friends in elementary school was a Teacher`s Aid.
ReplyDeleteI woke up to find someone watching me. How did they get in? We locked the door that night, before we went to sleep. Yet there was someone in our dorm and they were staring at me.
ReplyDeleteThat makes me want to know what happens, was it a creeper? A burglar?
DeleteI looked across the room at Dylan Ellenbecker, the most known jock and joker of the 5th grade. My mind went blank for a moment. What was going on? I reached into my pocket and pulled out... A belt? I look out at Dylan again and see him holding a pair of tighty-whiteys. Instinctively I check my pants to find they weren't mine. Finally remembering what was happening, I bolt off stage to the nearest room available. Now to go back and clear up some confusion...
ReplyDeleteI see...
DeleteI took another shaky step forward as the ground shook. Shifting along the single wire suspended in mid-air, I slowly made my way across the obstacle. Slowed down from being nervous and freezing, I took one last step, reaching my foot out desperately. A new rising emotion swelled up inside me as I heard the faint calls of my name grow louder and more intense.
ReplyDeleteOOOOOOH this is quite the hook, i want to hear more!
DeleteWalking down to the room, we talked about our weekends and laughed at Nick and Kennon's jokes. When we got there and sat down we were all business so, of course, someone aksed if we could play Apples to Apples.
ReplyDeleteHere I was about to scale an un inviting wall of sharp edges and hard landings, all harnessed up, ready to climb. But why?
ReplyDeletePS guys go on YouTube and look up Neature Walk. I cannot stop laughing, interesting how neat that is. "This here is an aspen tree, you can tell it's an aspen by the way it is. Neat."
Shocked, stunned, and silent we slowly walked out of the tense music room.
ReplyDeleteI'm back on my feet, sprinting through the snow. Dodging everything that comes my way. I'm almost through, when I'm finally hit...
ReplyDeleteYou could have been surprised that I was awful at the rock wall at Wolf Ridge, but then again...maybe not since I am afraid of heights.

Do you have a memory that you look back at and smile when you think of it? I do. In fact, this is one of those memories.
ReplyDeleteAs I walked into a new classroom, with new faces, for a new year, I had no clue what to expect. However, it turned out to be a very memorable year.
ReplyDeleteHave you ever had a teacher give you gum?
ReplyDeleteImagination is the advantage that being in Elementary school brings, which plays a key roll in this event.

ReplyDeleteThe frigid, dry, unstoppable wind was blowing me as I tried to walk the high wire.
ReplyDeleteFrightened, with humiliation as the jokes come out like a punch with another, and another
ReplyDeleteAs I jumpped the 3rd chair i didnt know what was happening till it was to late, splat, flat on my face.
DeleteSpilt! I almost got shot I look to my friend next to me but he is already gone.
ReplyDeleteHIKE!! 20 guys take off like cheetahs. The players follow the ball. Te exhilaration of when the QB let's that ball go is a moment of suspense. As the ball glides across the air, everyone gets ready to catch that diamond-shaped object. And whoever does, is going to hate to be piled under all of those 6th graders!! Wow, I actually caught that 40 yard pass. Now I have to run another 50 yards to the touchdown. My heart pumping, I run as fast as my legs could carry me. TOUCHDOWN!!!!! The victory is ours.
ReplyDeleteWho would've known I'd be standing on just a thin wire?
ReplyDeleteMom! Mom! I'm stuck and my head hurts. I.m missing my hat and backpack. Mom! A little help here please. Somebody, anyone? Ok so let me start from the beginning.
ReplyDeleteHave you ever seen a teacher with purple hair?
